The grant application period runs from 1 to 29 January 2021.
Travel grants for postgraduate studies, research and field work
The Foundation of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East awards travel grants for research carried out in the Middle East and research-related travel. Grants can be sought by researchers and doctoral students who are Finnish citizens or who work in Finland. As a rule, grants are not awarded to undergraduate students or for conference trips. The grant must be used during 2021. In evaluating the applications, a long-term stay in the destination area is considered an asset.
Grants for Arabic language courses
In 2021 FIME awards grants for at least one month of Arabic language studies in the Middle East. The grant is meant to cover only course fees, and also undergraduate students may apply for it. In evaluating the applications, students with advanced Arabic skills are preferred, as well as courses of long duration.
Applications addressed to the board of the Foundation of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East should be sent by e-mail to the Foundation’s executive officer Anu Leinonen (firstname.lastname@example.org). The application and its appendices must be combined into one PDF file.
The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday 29 January 2021.
For more information, please contact the Foundation’s executive officer by e-mail (email@example.com).
The receivers of the grants will be announced on this website in March 2021.
Please note: Only applications that have the box “I accept the processing of my data according to the Foundation’s privacy statement for grant-related data” can be accepted. The privacy statement is currently (2.1.2021) only in Finnish, but the English version will be updated during the application period.
